Among Us – Work Together, Or Betray the Crew

Among Us is a multiplayer game of teamwork, deception, and deduction set aboard a spaceship—or a high-stakes base, depending on the map. You and other players take on the role of Crewmates, working together to complete tasks… unless you’re the Impostor. In that case, your job is to sabotage the mission and eliminate everyone without getting caught. It’s quick to pick up, hard to master, and thrives on the tension between trust and betrayal.

How the Game Works

Each match begins with players randomly assigned their roles: most will be Crewmates, but 1–3 (depending on settings) will be Impostors. Crewmates win by finishing all their tasks or ejecting all Impostors. Tasks range from simple ones like swiping a card or fixing wiring, to more complex multi-step processes.

Impostors blend in by faking tasks, moving through vents, and eliminating Crewmates when no one’s looking. Their goal is to outnumber or kill the entire crew without being discovered. When a body is found or an emergency meeting is called, players vote on who they suspect. The accused might be ejected—but if they’re innocent, the Impostors gain ground.

What sets Among Us apart is how much of the action happens through player conversation. In those brief meetings, you’ll hear everything from panicked accusations to calculated lies. It’s up to you to read the room, remember who was where, and decide who’s telling the truth.

How to Play

  • Join or host a game with 4–15 players, online or over local Wi-Fi.
  • Choose your role. If you’re a Crewmate, finish your tasks and watch for suspicious behavior. If you’re the Impostor, fake tasks and plan your eliminations carefully.
  • Use the map. Know where your tasks are—or where people are likely to be isolated.
  • Call meetings or report bodies when something goes wrong, then discuss what you know and vote wisely.
  • Keep playing until one side wins: Crewmates by completing tasks or catching all Impostors, or Impostors by eliminating enough of the crew.

Tips for Playing

  • Crewmates: Stick with a buddy. It’s safer and gives you an alibi.
  • Pay attention to movement. A Crewmate who doesn’t do tasks might not be what they seem.
  • Impostors: Don’t kill too fast. Suspicion rises when people disappear too quickly.
  • Use sabotage tactically. Breaking lights or locking doors can give you the perfect opportunity—or cause chaos when you need it most.
  • In discussions, stay calm. Whether you’re innocent or lying through your teeth, how you speak can make or break the vote.

Among Us is simple in its mechanics but full of unpredictable twists. Whether you’re fixing a reactor or defending yourself from suspicion, every match feels like a new story.
